Beautiful oil painting by Matt Bruce of victorian or edwardian ladies on the promenade. This painting has the look of a pastel but is not. Impressionist in its style it is a gorgeous painting. Framed in a modern silvery grey hardwood frame. Frame dimensions 60 x 50 cm. Actual painting size is 50 x 40 cm.
Matt Bruce RI (British 1915 -2000). Matt was born in Scotland, was a gunner in The Royal Artillery during the Second World War, lived in Jersey briefly before moving to Brighton in 1948 where he was to live for the rest of his days. Matt travelled the world even right into his eighties and spent his life painting and teaching others to paint. His pictures were exhibited regularly at The Royal Academy, The Royal Society of British Artists, The Royal Institute of Watercolour Painters and The Royal West of England Academy, to name a few. He died of a heart attack in June of 2000.
