Description
A beautifully executed watercolour by Miss L D Pilkington of a riverside scene dated 1909. The river running powerfully through a wooded landscape with tall pines standing out on the left hand side. The picture has numerous labels to the back identifying the artist, title, date and framers. Even including the artists home address. It is framed, mounted and glazed with the frame measuring 60 x 49 cm. The painting itself measures 30 x 38 cm.
Miss L D Pilkington 1871 – 1934 British. An active and very competent artist, she was particularly known for her Landscape scenes painted during the early part of the 20th century. She was heir to the Pilkington Glass business.
