A study of a mare and her foal in a fenced paddock by Caroline Cook. The mare appears to either be in foal or has recently given birth. This beautiful watercolour is almost photographic in its quality. A wonderful depiction of two horses. The painting is mounted and framed but is NOT glazed, The frame measures 54 x 41 cm (21″ x 16″). The picture itself measures 37 x 23 cm (14.5″ x 9″).
Caroline Cook is a contemporary British equine specialist artist based in Somerset. She is self taught and her equine paintings are always in high demand. She manages to paint horses with life, light and plenty of movement, capturing the very essence of the animal at play, rest and work.
